Itsy Bitsy Bookworms Child Development Center strives to provide an environment that serves as an island of safety for children. Each child is recognized as an individual with unique gifts and talents. Children are taught to recognize and respond to their own feelings as well as the feelings of others in appropriate and healthy ways. Our literacy-based curriculum is designed to engage the children in hands-on, diversity rich activities that are aligned with PA Early Childhood standards. The children at Itsy Bitsy Bookworms are given the tools necessary to be independent, thoughtful, and caring individuals who are emotionally intelligent.
We are located at 430 Main Street in Moosic, Pennsylvania and provide early education for children between the ages of two and five years. We are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and have been serving children and their families in the Scranton-Wilkes Barre area since 2012.
What We Do
All of our Bookworms learn about important things like letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. More importantly, they learn about kindness and respect for others and themselves. As we learn about each letter, we also learn about other cultures. Our adventure for the letter "R" allowed us to take a "trip" to Russia to meet Peter and the Wolf. We learned all about how music can tell a story and how different instruments have different sounds. We also learned the Kalinka and ate a few Russian dishes. In this way, our Bookworms begin to understand there is a big, wide world outside of their neighborhoods and despite the many differences we may have, we are in fact, all the same on the inside where it matters most.
